I first met Ros, founder of Borough Broth Company, about six months ago and have happily watched her business go from strength to strength. She sells organic slow-cooked beef and chicken bone broth which is super healthy and versatile. We had a fun day styling a few serving suggestions for her broth – now available at Selfridges Food Hall, Blok London and via her website.
Studies show that incorporating bone broth into your diet can help heal your gut, boost collagen production, protect your joints from arthritis, and have positive effects on your immune system. All good to know, but I can confidently now add the most important benefit... it tastes so good!
Some serving suggestions (as photographed here): You can enjoy a cup of broth with a simple squeeze of lime juice or mixed with fresh beetroot juice. To add a gentle kick, add ground turmeric and sauerkraut. For an Asian dinner, use either broth as bases for Vietnamese pho or Japanese ramen or udon – beef and chicken are both delicious. Enjoy a bowl of broth with miso paste, shiitake mushrooms, grated ginger, turmeric, garlic and fresh chilli. Roasted bone marrow makes a delicious accompaniment. And, finally, mix some broth with coconut milk and hot chocolate... really!
I know there's so many other bone broth recipes and serving suggestions out there... including the Bloody Bull cocktail (a beef broth take on a Bloody Mary). Leave me a comment if you have any recommendations!
