Smoothie Bowls

We are only a few weeks from Christmas; from mince pies with every cup of tea; from munching on appetisers throughout the entire day... and I am certainly not complaining! To prep for this magical and indulgent time, I'm gravitating towards healthier breakfasts, so I can at least cram in some fruit and vegetables before all the potatoes and chocolate. Here are three easy-peasy smoothie recipes. I measure out, cut up and freeze the solid ingredients in individual bags, so in the morning all that's needed is to empty a bag into a blender and add a cup of liquid.

Christmas Spice

½ cup porridge oats
1 banana
1 cup almond milk
½ tsp ground ginger
A pinch of nutmeg
1 tbsp molasses
Top with: nuts, seeds, dried fruit, cinnamon

Green Machine

1 cup spinach
1 banana
1 cup almond milk
½ ripe avocado
Top with: banana, raspberries, mixed seeds

Berry Mix

1 cup frozen strawberries and blueberries
½ ripe avocado
1 cup coconut water
1 banana
2 tbsp porridge oats
Top with: kiwi, goji berries, pumpkin seeds

Aren't they pretty? I add a tiny dash of honey to satisfy my sweet tooth, and enjoy the guilt-erasing goodness!
